Employee Appreciation Day was created to recognize the efforts and contributions of employees in the workplace. This day was initiated in the United States and has since gained popularity in various other countries.
The origin of Employee Appreciation Day can be traced back to 1995. It was started by Dr. Bob Nelson, a recognized authority on employee recognition and engagement, in conjunction with his publishing company, Workman Publishing.[1] Dr. Nelson is well-known for his book 1001 Ways to Reward Employees[3].
Employee Appreciation Day encourages managers and employers across various industries to thank their employees for their hard work and effort throughout the year. This recognition can take many forms, including special events, treats, bonuses, or simply a thank-you note. Click Here for ideas on how to show appreciation[3].
