MARINA DAYS 2017 WITH CAMPBELL POINT MARINA AND MARICORP US
MariCorp US and Campbell Point Marina invite you to compete in this year’s Marina Day and Cardboard Boat Race, to be held on Saturday, August 12th, at Campbell Point Marina. This event is open to all area businesses – there is no cost to participate. Competing businesses are encouraged to brand their cardboard boats with logos, (see Cardboard Boat Racing Rules, Regulations & Tips) and will be given booth space at the Marina Day celebration.
Businesses may also sponsor a boat. If you or a business you know is interested in participating, please contact us at [email protected] for an application.Marina Day is co-sponsored by MariCorp US and Campbell Point Marina. The event, open to the public at no charge, is meant to educate and promote a safe and fun boating lifestyle. Besides several information booths, the Shriner’s will be hosting a beer garden (all proceeds to charity), free food and drinks and waffle cone ice cream will be given out, and a free concert tops the night off with a performance by Studio 54.
The cardboard boats entered into the race, will be voted on by the public for best Unique Design. Awards will be given out for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, as well as the “Titanic” award for most dramatic sinking. KESA will be broadcasting live during the day. Other events include free boat rides; Central Crossing will have their fire boat on-hand; awareness booths sponsored by MariCorp US, the US Army Corps of Engineers and information on scuba diving by DiVentures, electrical safety and more!
Schedule:
1:00 -5:00 pm – Booth Displays & Free Boat Rides
3:30 – 4:30 pm – Boat check in and People’s Choice judging
4:30 – 5:00 pm – Cardboard Boat Races
4:00 – 6:00 pm – Dinner
6:30 – 9:30 pm – Concert
