PIZZA EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION DAY MEAL 2024

MariCorp employees were treated to a Pizza Employe Appreciation Day Meal, catered by Geraldi’s, in Shell Knob, MO, a favorite local Italian restaurant and pizzeria. Employees were able to order a pizza of their choice to be delivered for lunch. We know that people make a difference, and our team members in the shop, in the field, and the office are our most valuable assets. Their hard work and efforts make MariCorp a success.

It’s always been a long standing tradition at MariCorp to host meals for our employees throughout the year. Sometimes employees will volunteer to cook up a company meal, sometimes it’s a pot luck. Sometimes MariCorp collaborates with vendors to provide freshly grilled burgers, hot dogs and brats or pizza parties. The most anticipated meal is the end of year Christmas dinner, where employees bring family members to celebrate the year’s accomplishments, with a full dinner at a local restaurant. Videos and slideshows are presented and gifts, prizes and bonuses are handed out.

The origin of Employee Appreciation Day can be traced back to 1995. It was started by Dr. Bob Nelson, a recognized authority on employee recognition and engagement, in conjunction with his publishing company, Workman Publishing.[1] Dr. Nelson is well-known for his book 1001 Ways to Reward Employees[3].

Employee Appreciation Day encourages managers and employers across various industries to thank their employees for their hard work and effort throughout the year. This recognition can take many forms, including special events, treats, bonuses, or simply a thank-you note. Click Here for ideas on how to show appreciation[3]. The purpose is to improve employee morale, increase engagement, and strengthen the employer-employee relationship.
